Northwest Jazz Festival

Northwest hosts jazz performers from middle schools and high schools during its annual Northwest Jazz Festival. The Northwest Jazz Ensemble performs at noon in the Charles Johnson Theater at the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. The awards concert at 5 p.m. in the Charles Johnson Theater will feature the Vine Street Rumble Jazz Orchestra. All performances are free and open to the public.

Special thanks to the Missouri Arts Council for helping to support Vine Street Rumble’s guest appearance.

The Jazz Festival is open to high school and middle school jazz ensembles and combos. Each group presents a public performance, and three adjudicators per room write critiques and assign a rating. The judges work with each group on-stage after their performance.
