SAC Fall Concert: Chase Rice

Lamkin Activity Center, Bearcat Arena

Friday, December 8, 2017 @ 7:00 pm

Country music artist Chase Rice’s “Lambs & Lions Tour” will perform at Northwest at 7 p.m. at Bearcat Arena for the Student Activities Council's fall concert.

Tickets for Northwest students are $10 and available online or in the cashiering office, located on the first floor of the Administration Building. Remaining tickets are available to the public for $20. Tickets purchased on the day of the show increase $5.

Country-pop artist Haeley Vaughn, who appeared on Season 9 of “American Idol,” will appear as an opening act at Northwest.

Rice has established a loyal fan base through energetic live shows and an edgy, eclectic sound on the success of 2014’s “Ignite the Night,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The album produced a pair of top five hits with the Platinum-certified “Ready Set Roll” and Gold-certified “Gonna Wanna Tonight.”

Rice was nominated in 2016 as the Academy of Country Music’s New Male Vocalist of the Year and was a presenter during the live CBS national telecast of the 51st ACM Awards. In 2015, he earned a CMT Awards nomination for Breakthrough Video of the Year with “Gonna Wanna Tonight.”

A cast member of CBS’s “Survivor: Nicaragua” in 2010, Rice also earned a co-writing credit on Florida Georgia Line’s massive 2012 hit “Cruise,” which made history as the most-downloaded country single of all time and sold more than 10 million copies.

Rice’s other national TV appearances include “Good Morning America,” “Fox & Friends,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and “Today.”

The 31-year-old has toured the world with four massive headlining tours and stadium-show opening runs for country megastars, including Kenny Chesney and Dierks Bentley. Rice’s latest single release last year, “Everybody We Know Does,” is a rowdy rocker he says takes him back in his mind to the Fairview, North Carolina, farm on which he was raised.
