Northwest will host a free session for students and parents seeking assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The FAFSA is the first step all students must take to obtain financial assistance to attend college.
The Northwest event will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday in Colden Hall Room 1200. Personnel from Northwest's student financial aid office will be on hand to answer questions and assist students and families with completing the FAFSA online.
Participants are asked to bring:
-2011 W-2 forms.
-2011 tax forms, if they are ready, or any statements of interest earned in 2011, any 1099 forms, and any other forms required to complete your taxes.
-Student PIN and parent PIN. You may apply for your PINs at www.pin.ed.gov before attending a CGS event.
If you have not completed your taxes, bring:
-Last year-end pay stub received in December 2011 by you and your parents, showing year-to-date earnings.
-2011 statements of interest earned
