Book signing: “More Than Your First Cookbook” by Barry Beacom

Barry Beacom, the former director of Campus Dining at Northwest, will sign copies of his new book, “More Than Your First Cookbook” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the Bearcat Bookstore in J.W. Jones Student Union.

Retiring in 2009 after more than 20 years at Northwest, Beacom wrote, “More Than Your First Cookbook,” after he noticed many of today’s college students had little or no experience in a kitchen. Gearing the book toward the new and inexperienced cook, Beacom’s book helps a novice cook understand how to follow a recipe, budget money for food, create a weekly menu and the grocery list needed to fulfill it.
