DESCRIPTION:Northwest hosts a Special Olympics basketball tournament Saturday in Bearcat Arena and the Student Rec Center. Opening Ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. About 30 teams with 250 athletes from throughout northwest Missouri are scheduled to compete.\n\nCompetition events will take place in individual skills team skills 3-on-3 modified and regulation basketball. People interested in volunteering to help on the day of the tournament should visit www.somo.org. The public is encouraged to attend all events and cheer for the athletes.
