DESCRIPTION:The Northwest Symphony presents its season finale concert Joyous at 8 p.m. in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is free and open to the public. \n\nThe celebration of spring in symphonic sounds will feature Emmanuel Chabriers irresistible Marche Joyeuse the ecstatic Slavonic Dances op. 46 nos. 7  8 by Antonn Dvork Morton Goulds whimsical Pavanne from Symphonette No. 2 featuring trumpet soloist Rachel Sneed a senior instrumental music education major from Smithville and exhilarating movie music from Superman and The Magnificent Seven.\n\nThe program also will include Beethovens sparkling C Major Piano Concerto 1st Movement featuring piano soloist David Kinkennon a graduate student from Iowa City Iowa who is pursuing his Master of Education in teaching music.
